What if we told you that you can deposit a check into your ACCU account without ever leaving your living room? This is possible using Mobile Deposit now available on our ACCU Mobile Banking app!
Here's How ACCU's Mobile Deposit Service Works:
Someone writes you a personal check. You take a picture of the front and back of the check with your smartphone using your ACCU mobile banking app.* The app on your phone then transmits the images to your credit union, which can depsoit the check into your account.

What is Mobile Deposit?
Mobile Deposit is a service that allows you to deposit certain checks into your ACCU account without visiting a branch. This can be done anywhere with the use of ACCU's mobile banking app on your smartphone or tablet. Be sure you have updated the app to version 2.5 to get started on the Mobile Banking service.
How do I know that I have Version 2.5 of ACCU's mobile banking app?
Check your app version from within ACCU's Mobile Banking app by tapping the main menu icon in the upper left-hand corner, then tap "Settings." The app version is listed at the bottom of the page as "Application Version." If your app version is not 2.5 or newer, go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to download the most recent version of the ACCU mobile banking app.
What are the requirements to be eligible for ACCU's Mobile Deposit?
The general requirements are that you have to be a member of ACCU for at least 30 days and be in good standing. However, please note that availability of the Mobile Deposit service to any member is subject to review by ACCU at any time. Are there any checks I am not able to deposit using ACCU's Mobile Deposit?
Yes, here is a list of checks you are not able to deposit using ACCU's Mobile Deposit -
- Checks stamped as "non-negotiable,"
- Altered, fraudulent, or incomplete checks,
- Foreign Checks,
- Savings Bonds,
- Stale- or Post-dated Checks,
- Two-Party Checks,
- Checks endorsed to a third-party,
- Checks not payable to an owner on the ACCU account,
- Checks previously converted to a substitute check, and
- Checks exceeding your per-item or daily Mobile Deposit limits (you will be notified of your limits in your service approval email)
Are there any fees to use Mobile Deposit?
This is the fun part: There are no fees associated with ACCU's Mobile Deposit service. Note: Data and messaging rates may apply from your wireless provider.
How do I enroll in ACCU's Mobile Deposit?
You will need to download and log into the ACCU mobile banking app found at the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. Once you have logged into the ACCU mobile banking app, tap on the main menu in the top left corner. Tap on "Deposit" then "Mobile Deposit." Review the terms and conditions and tap "Accept." Your service registration will be pending until reviewed by ACCU. Once reviewed, and if you qualify for Mobile Deposit, you will receive an email stating that your registration has been approved and what your deposit limits are.
How should I endorse checks being deposited using ACCU's Mobile Deposit?

How do I deposit a check?
Simply log into the ACCU mobile banking app, tap on the main menu icon in the top left corner, tap on "Deposit," then tap on "Mobile Deposit." Select the account you would like to make the deposit to, enter the amount, and take a picture of the front and back of the check by clicking the cameras. Follow the on-screen instructions to take the pictures.
What should I do with the paper check?
Keep the paper check in a safe place for at least 30 days in case it is not accepted for deposit or needed for verification.
How will I know if the check made it to ACCU?
To check on mobile deposits pending approval, tap on the main menu icon in the top left corner, tap on "Deposit," then tap on "Deposited Checks List." You can view a list of deposited checks that are waiting to be reviewed.
When will my deposit be available?
Checks submitted before 3:00pm CT will generally be reviewed the same day. If the check is accepted, and is not subject to further hold, it will be available the same day. Once the check is reviewed, you will receive an email regarding the status and if the check accepted, adjusted, or deleted. Any checks submitted after 3:00pm CT will be reviewed the next business day. (Saturdays, Sundays and holidays are not considered business days.)
